Stepping Back

Love stepped out of your life yesterday,
and today love's palette started to dry.
Aware love's brushes of imagination
and discourse were starting to stiffen
and you not wanting to live in the past
- or move to the realm of reflection
left the World stepping backwards
through an open Window
so you could see what you had left behind
as you fell - looking back - falling
gathering
your precious everything
and back and back until there was
only yesterday.
