The Thrill

As part of the Saturday shopping sisterhood,
I shop to feed my vanity and to feel good.
Shop-counter-comfort is something I enjoy,
a two-for-one reduction is a sensual joy.

I explore stores for seduction on the shelf,
style is forever but fashion feeds the wolf.
My aesthetic cravings feed my inner core.
Bracelets, bangles, blouses, I do so adore.

My desire for the hunt is a narcotic,
feeding my pleasure centres, it is so erotic.
Shopping for gratification is not complex,
it's exciting, better than chocolate or sex.

Retail therapy - I get the shopper's high,
to buy this bag is a matter of Dior or die.
The pleasure of purchase is the source of my joy;
possession, a penance which continues to annoy.
